Other Training Courses

Low Risk Driving Course ( ½ day or 1 day course, depending on your requirements)

This course is normally delivered at the workplace, but can be delivered at other centres. The courses are not designed to teach high level car control skills such as skid control or high speed cornering. Research has shown that can, in fact, lead to an increase in crash incidence.

The ½ day course takes the form of a 4 hour classroom session and covers the following:

- Motivating drivers to be safer drivers – “what’s in it for me” .
- Identifying and measuring risks – why do we take risks, how do we manage them
- Self-assessing driving performance – where can I improve
- Modifying driver behaviour – dealing with emotions. “I think I’m a safe driver, how can I be even safer”
- What’s safe – can I stop in time, am I travelling to fast for the conditions

Cost: Groups (min 4) - $135 Individual - $195 (incl GST)

The 1 day course is an extension of the ½ day course. After the classroom session we participate in a practical driving to experience real life driving situations including:

- Identifying hazards
- Driving in traffic
- Safe following distances
- Braking
- Rural hazards
- Dirt roads

Cost: Groups (min 4) - $185 Individual - $245 (incl GST)

Motorcycle Rider Courses

Individual or small group training for all levels of experience, whether for learners, experienced riders or those getting on a bike for the first time in a few years. Training is conducted by Michael McCulkin, an RTA licensed motor cycle instructor and previously a NSW Police Highway Patrol motor cyclist for 12 years.

Courses are designed around your experience and needs and cover the following areas:

- Steering
- Braking
- Hazard perception
- Risk management
- Emergency braking
- Roadcraft skills
- Protective wear

Costs are available on an individual basis.
